.... if you feel like a fresh look to your living room to start off the New Year, without a great deal of effort or money, here are a few Les Soeurs Anglaises textile tips, that we've implemented to great effect at the Maison de Maitre and L'Espace. We'll be following them up over the next few months with ideas for the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and office.
· Try adding a length of your favourite fabric or an old frayed blanket, darned and edged and thrown over the back of an armchair or sofa, to add colour and a change of emphasis to the whole room. Arm covers can be patched with complimentary fabric cuttings, or you can use unexpected textiles for more impact and interest.
Cushion covers can be made from upholstery fabric remnants. Vintage and contemporary prints look great together.
·
Old
quilts in questionable condition, can be patched, Ruflette sewn along the top
edge and used as a cosy winter door curtain to stop the draughts.
